FOR YOU: 3 Top Photographers on Finding Your Style as a Photographer

welcome back everybody thanks so muchfor joining me again today we've got a really interesting video because it'snot just me oh no we've got some award winning photographers joining ustoday to talk to you guys about how to find your style yes as I said beforetoday's video is all about style it's so important on so many levels but we'llget into that with each individual photographer that we're going to bespeaking to we have got like I said three award-winning photographers withus today we have got Dorte who is an absolutely incredible children'slifestyle family photographer and her work is just amazing it made me cry andthat's not like me and then we also have got Jo who helped find in thephotographers that we're going to use in the video today so I really owe a lot ofthanks to Jo Jo is an awesome photographer from over in Lincolnshireshe has a beautiful style iconic I can tell a picture is hers then we haveAnnie who is an absolutely incredible fine art award-winning photographer herwork is just incredible as well so we've got her coming in for us so what isstyle I'm going to very briefly just run through before we kick off and for mestyle essentially if I was scrolling through a social media feed would I beable to tell immediately on the first glance of seeing a picture whose picture thatwas and if I could say yes just by the style and the the personality that oozesout of that photograph can I tell whose it is and in the case of Jo yeah100% it doesn't matter what the subject is whether it's a dog whetherit's a horse irrelevant I know it's Jo's the second I see it and that myfriends is style we'll go into why it's important and why everybody should havetheirs and try and find theirs but one thing that I really need to stressbefore we kick this off is firstly go and get yourself a drink and a snackbecause you're gonna want to be comfy for watching this but then secondlyremember that just because somebody's style might be a certain waythat does not excuse poor technical skill so you can't dress up a picturethat's out of focus and overexposed and say that it's just that's just my stylewell no technically it's not it's not right if your technical competence isn'tthere style can't cover it over so just keep that in mind and make sure thatyou are always always trying to improve yourself from a technical standpoint andthen your style can just add to that so really style includes both shooting andediting the the two aren't mutually exclusive style just brings thoseelements together and it is something that you develop over time if youhaven't already please do press the subscribe button and click the bell iconthe bell icon helps you out because it gives you a notification every single time I uploada video I upload every week and sometimes more than that if I feel like italthough this video is not the normal style today we're on video cause that'sweird that's not normal and I'm gonna try not screw that up but yeahif you can please do subscribe helps me out and helps you out because youmight learn something if you learn something I haven't subscribed thenthat's a bit mean I don't want to use of any more time so I think we shouldjust jump straight in with the interviews and I'm gonna try and keepthings moving super quick let's crack on thanks so much for joining us todayDorte I need to try and remember to look up but I'm not going to remember I've got a list of questions which you have already seen just so that youare prepared so I'm gonna read those questions to make sure I get thequestions right but then after that I just want to open the floor and you cananswer as however you see fit so the first question is who are youwhat do you shoot and where do you shoot that from so Dorte please take itaway hello I'm really grateful to be hereso my name is Dorte I am based in Leicestershire I work with families andlifestyle brands I do have a studio but the majority of my work is on location Ilive in the countryside so I'm spoiled for choice really it looks like abeautiful background we're just surrounded by fields I'm very luckylovely I also noticed you didn't mention it but you have very recently won an awardhaven't you are you able to talk about that I haveyeah and i'm not very comfortable with it yet because it's really new and I feellike – I generally just feel like I'm no one andI have no idea how I won these awards I mean it's just in the regionals and itproves like the important thing for people to take away I think is if youbecome a little bit intentional about your work you do you do grow in yourbusiness and you do grow in your work and being part of any kind of communityis it's just so inspirational it is really uplifting so I think yeah anybody coulddo that that could have happened to anybody but the interesting thingin terms of style is while the awards were happening live the critiques werehappening live this year because obviously it have to be moved onlinepeople were messaging me going oh my god was that your picture I just saw andI couldn't join it live because I was on another training session and I keptthinking how do they know anyway so I think yeah that it was quite a strongmoment in terms of oh wow people recognize my work that isa style for me personnally that's what that's what style is for me if I was just justscrolling along maybe on social media and I saw a picture withinthe first few seconds could I say I know whose that isthat's just so important so if you if you had to describe your own style howwould you describe that yeah I put a little survey out on my Instagram orlike my social media just said to people like how do you see my style andabsolutely everybody said natural like the word natural kept coming up whichwas good for me because I do try really hard to walk that fine linebetween natural and looking aesthetically pleasing like creatingbeautiful work but it has to be real so that's my balance pretty but real andI'm naturally I'm Scandanavian I think we are quite uncluttered calm kind of style inmost of what we do so that's kind of my stylebut we obviously we know as photographers people look at our work and go aw that'sreally natural but I don't say to the kidsknock yourself out kids and I'll just capture this you knowin the background it is actually very planned to look natural if it's looks effortlessthere's something really indulging about effortless versus that really contrivedover-styled there's absolutely spaces and markets for those but it's just adifferent feel I think people resonate very well with that effortless natural lookdefinitely so I guess my next question is when didyou realize that this kind of look was your style and how did it develop afteryou first realized that that was you I was prepping these questions and itwas really interesting timing because I've been in the studio and I've beenclearing out some old stuff and I actually found some pictures that wereprobably about eight years old and I have my um I've just had my associateship as well with the MPA and I have my panel of that up minute and I took theseeight-year-old pictures and put them up and they sit next to my currentwork and I thought yep my style hasn't ever really changed a great dealI always had that lifestyle feel but I think what has changed is because youkeep training and improving and you get better and better and you're pushing ityour consistency goes up so historically I would probably come away from a shootand go yes I've got one good one that kind of looks like me and now I'd liketo think you go out into a shoot and you take a panel of pictures and they have thatconsistency so it's not that my style has ever really changed but it's gotten alot stronger and a lot more consistent I think that's very interesting I thinkthat some things they're sort of the consistency of it develops over time asthe as the work develops I guess as well togetherI mean one thing that people in our community are struggling with at themoment is is how do they find their style so if they for example arejust like I don't know what my style is what would you say to them I thinkwe all feel like that and I think social media is terrible for that because wesee other people's work and others work is always better than ours right andlike I scroll through mine and I look at that's a lot of the Americanphotographers that have that really dark earthy tone and I swoon and I think oh Iwant to shoot that actually I think the best thing we can do is own our stylebecause we could take ten photographers take us to the same location with thesame model with the same gear and somehow our pictures would look slightlydifferent somehow what comes out of your camera is is you and it's easier to ownthat and be happy with that rather than always constantly try and shootsomething that just isn't coming out of your camera so I think a good tip forworking out what your style is is go back and look at your own work over a longperiod and pick out which one of these do I like which ones do you go back andlook at and go I still really love this picture and then working at what thecommonality is between those pictures and that's a good starting point forthis is clearly my style because this is what I keep coming back to I thinkthat's brilliant answer that was just brilliant don't look at other peoplelike look at your own work take the inspiration from your own way I thinkthe other thing is whose call you want to get or email you want to get the phonerings you want to pick it up and it's someone going darling I've just got to get you to come out and photograph princess Mia Maya she's my absolute delight and joy Chihuahua and Iwant her photographed in her four poster bed wearing all of her bling is thatyour dream customer in that case that's what you've got to go and shoot do you wantsomeone from maybe the military ringing up saying we're making a beautifulcoffee book about working dogs and we want you to go and shoot with theirhandlers do you want the vets to ring up saying we're doing a new campaignmarketing campaign can you come and shoot the pictures for it like what is your dreamphone call what is your dream customer and then photograph for that becausethen you will be recognized for that and they're the people you're going toattract that is just there isno way I would have been able to explain that like you have explained that youcan have my channel how you see the world because we naturally see the worlddifferent some like I see a lot of details and some people see lights andpeople see movement like when you enter a scene what's the first thing thatyou naturally pick up on maybe you pick up on the connectionbetween the dog and the owner or maybe you pick up on like maybe just like therunning ones on the agility shots like what do you see because it's backto that run with what you naturally see don't try to shoot what you don't naturallysee because it's a lot more effort and hard work to basically change what youlike because that does come into it I think as well if you knowintrinsically don't resonate with that particular thing or a subject or styletrying to make yourself fit into that isn'tgonna work and actually it's a really good pointlike also know which phone call you don't want to get this doesn't happenvery often anymore but you know historically in a phone call saying ohI've got some car batteries and I need some photographs on a white backgroundcan you help and you just think argh have you seen m work it's like they're the people who need a jobdone and typically we're not after the people who need a job we're after thecustomers who want us to do the work because they want something to look likewhat we create and that's a very different customer so be aware of who youdon't want to phone you and don't show that kind of work why do you think it'simportant that a photographer develops their own style that they that theyproduce regularly I just think having a strong brandidentity is it's so true that your vibe will attract your tribe so everythingwe've just talked about who is your dream customer in order to attract them you have toshow the style that they want to buy and I know it's such a cliche answer but yesso many photographers around in all sectors and if you don't stand outthere's no good reason if you don't stand out if you are exactly the same asthat it will come down to price so unless you stand out like what's the point in people ringing you what is your secretsource what are you gonna do differently that is so true because itdoes it will just come down to price if everybody's shooting the high streetstudio on a white background all it comes down to is price and you knowthat's something that I've said again and again and again over the yearsif you are not producing work that is different to both the customers nowwhich was something that didn't exist a few years ago they have cameraphones which are very very good you know who are producing work that they couldeither produce themselves or they could go to somebody else locally to get thesame thing it will come down to price absolutely and nobody wants to be chosenfor being cheap I mean that is not my aim in life is it's just not and it's alsoabout being a little bit brave because especially if you're new in photographyyou might think this is what I really want to shoot but this is what I'm beingpaid to shoot so it's very tempting to keep shooting what you're being paid toshoot because that's where the money is as opposed to go no I'm just gonna drawa line under this and I'm gonna not show any of that work and I'm only gonna showwhat I want to yeah gotta shoot what lights you up and what like I actually Imade a very conscious decision probably at the beginning of last year I thoughtif when someone inquires if I knew on the morning of that shoot I'm gonnalook at my calendar and think oh is that today I don't book it in I only booksomething so I know I'm gonna wake up in the morning and go oh this is soexciting that's part of the point of being self-employed you get to pick andyou produce better work if you work with stuff that lights you up definitelydefinitely yeah it's just such a positive upward spiral isn't it becauseyou're doing the work like your work is even better than you're gonna attractbetter clients yeah to tie up this interview I guess the last questionis where do you see your photography going next because I think that's quite open no I definitely want to expand my film so my kind of thing atthe minute is linking like creative look between my still images and my filmI absolutely want to introduce more film work to my family to like my payingfamilies my paying customers I also push my online training so I run atraining course where I teach families to do like keepsake family films andI also teach businesses how to do brand films so as photographers we have so much scope for using video because we can use behind the scene wecan do promos and actually we can record films for our clients at the same timeof doing the shoot so we do like moving portraits and yes that's my thing isdoing more with the film that's interesting so in terms of potentially Idon't know if there is any connection but in terms of the people that are youknow subscribed to this YouTube channel is there anything that theycould come to you for help with several photographers actually who's alreadydone the film course so that yeah no definitely l will add links down in thedescription anyway thank you so so so much forjoining us today thank you thank you I will move over onto the next interviewnow so I guess we will speak soon and and yeah thank you very much thank youintroduce yourself so who are you what do you shoot and where do youshoot from I'm Jo I am an animal photographer covering mainly dogs andhorses in Northeast Lincolnshire and I do cover a little bit further afield aswell haven't you just picked up something or is that I actually got the EastMidlands pet photographer award when did you start shootingcan you remember because that's hard yeah so I was I'm really I'vebeen very very lucky and I went to college did an a-level in photography soI didn't go to university straight from college I managed to get a job in a verywell-known portrait studio in Market Harboroughand they're fantastic they were award-winning they were brilliant it wasa real privilege to work for them and I stayed there for oh goodnessseven eight years before I moved up to Grimsby during that time not only did Iget to experiment with studio portraiture I also in 2012 startedgoing through on my own style that's when I started developing it mainly withequines at that point in studio settings so I would take a backdrop tothe yard with lighting set it all up and hope they didn't crash into it and trashit I know how that feels I have been there it's quite scary when you've gotthe back end of a horse going towards your lights and you thinking pleasedon't knock it over what I'm going to do is I'm going to show a few of your pictures onthe screen how would you describe your style I've got two because obviouslyI cover location shoots and studio so my studio images I try and give it thatextra special kind of more of a fine art feel so maybe use a backdrop withtexture it's something that's a little bit deep and keep it quite quite mutedbut then my location portraits we keep it very natural and we involve allaspects so if you're in The Woodlands you've got branches and ferns and thenif you're out on the beach then we'll get the horses or the dogs runningthrough the water as well in my opinion your imagery is quite light and the outdoor stuff specifically is quite airy and it just feels very freealmost which i think is really nice yeah and I do make an effort to edit out anyhead colors or leads and collars just so that you've got that feeling of maybethe horse running loose across the beach where it quite clearly isn't becausewe'd never get it back other options where you've gotmaybe a dog that has got slight aggression issues so you can't get tooclose or they can't be let off lead so when an owner then sees their doglooking like it's loose they get a real kind of strong emotion with that becausethey can they don't then just see their dog as necessarily an aggressive dogyeah or being confined or constrained and sometimes when as photographers wemight be posting stuff on social media and everything looks like it's gotnothing on and that's not actually in real lifeit's not like that no not at all and I know some people there is people go I'lljust take the collar off take the collar off but if you're not comfortable takingthat collar off it's not a problem in a woodland I wouldnever ask somebody to take the collar off a dog because they could catch thescent of a rabbit or a squirrel and just leg it and if they leg it in a woodlandthen you've lost them and I don't want to be responsible for that so ifsomebody doesn't feel comfortable doing it then it's not a problem they canleave their dog on lead they can keep the collar on and we'll edit it outafterwards yeah those skills do take time to tolearn it's not going to be quick and easy the idea when you take it out isthat you can't see where you've taken it out and you do as you progress in yourskill level you can then see in other photographs where they've taken it outyou've got to make that seamless joint but it's it's taken me years to get tothe point that I am at now though I think and you're stilllearning this is something yeah that's that's important though it doesn't stopI mean even me I'm not professing to be the best photographer in the worldbecause I know I'm not but I think the point is I know I'm not and therefore itkind of like I I can tell people what I know so that other people canlearn but at the same time I've not finished I'm still I'm still developingI'm still learning and I'm still hopefully improving as a photographer aswell and there's not a finish linethere isn't it doesn't exist and as soon as you you think that you've got to thatpoint where you are amazing and and you're the best that can be that's whenyour style stops developing and your images stop getting betterthey never move past that point where as you can always progress your images if aphotographer was struggling to find their style and they were you knowsaying things like I don't I just feel like I don't know where to start I don'tknow what my look is what would you say to them to try and help them kind ofgive them a direction to go and to find it you you've got to like the style thatyou you want to – emulates the wrong word but theeasiest way for me was to find images that I liked images that I was drawn toso do your research look at other photographers it doesn't have to be inthe country that you're in it could be all over the world and look at thatstyle that that you're instantly drawn to and you go okay wow that's that'samazing I want I'd love to be able to dosomething like that then it gives you a starting point as to where to go if youlike images that are all completely in focus and pin-sharp and has gotall the detail then you're not going to experiment with the softer focusing ifyou're not necesary drawn to location images that you're drawn to studioimages that are bright and airy maybe on white backgrounds then you go that wayyou've got to like what you do because if you don't you don't put that passioninto your photography and it's just trying to find that but you do have toexperiment and you do I look back through my work over the last few yearsand I can see the way my style has changed and progressed until I'mcomfortable with it I look back now at some of them and go oh dear did I dothat and that's kind of embarrassing what you do and I do I'm the sameyeah and back in 2012 I would never have dreamed of doing outdoor locationphotography I was I always studio studio studio but I worked in a studio at thetime so I was drawn more to that side of things do you think that someonestyle is set so after they've sort of worked it out do you think that thenthat's that a done deal no not at all so I think there's always ways that you canimprove your images and ways to progress your style and make them better there'salways ways to make them better you I looked at my images now and go I wishhad done that or I wish I'd done this and eventually it will come a secondnature and what to look for you're learning the whole time so no you canalways change – your styles always progressingdefinitely good answer where do you see your photographygoing next what have you got in the pipeline is there anything exciting areyou gonna be training is there things that the subscribers can get involved in ifthey would like to so I've got a mix of things in in plans at the moment thereI've got one workshop booked for equine studios that people can come and attendand learn a bit more of the studio based to find out with some absolutelygorgeous Spanish stallions they are phenomenal I've worked with theguy before I have not worked with these stallions I've worked with his olderstallions but the way he is with them you canreally see the bond that people have with their horses the real real horsemanso I've got that one I also have a horse beach shoot where I've been buying upwedding dresses I think I have three now and we're going there's a girl who doesLiberty with her horses so they're completely loose on the beach there'snothing on so from an editing perspective there'sno head collar there's no lead ropes nothing and she plays with them on thebeach and so they follow her they play with her and they move with her so Ihave a beach session scheduled with her when we can do so as far as progressingmy own work I'm always learning I'm always looking for opportunities tolearn in the middle of last year I was lucky enough to get my associateship with theMPA so I am looking at the fellowship but that is going to be a few years Iwould think in the planning it's not something I'm jumping straight into butto plan a fellowship panel would be amazing yeah that sounds really excitingyou've got some really good stuff coming up I have I'm really excited and thenobviously the trip to the lake district as well so yes there's a lot ofI've got a lot of opportunities not only for myself but for others coming up inthe next few months as well so it's very excitingyeah very thanks so much for your time today I really really appreciate ithonestly we will move on to our next interview now thank you so much okayright first of all I looked at your about page on your website and myfavorite line let me just get that hang on a sec my favorite line is you're onthe right side of 95 but the wrong side of middle age yeah well that that is really true andactually you know what it's only when you get to there you realize that that'sactually a superpower it just made the whole of the about pagejust made me chuckle from start to finish so I kind of had like a hint about whatthis call – which direction we might go the first question is who are youwhat do you shoot and where do you shoot that from it's over to youI am Annie Burbarge and I trade as Annie Bee I shoot predominantly portraits andweddings my portrait work is predominantly pets but not not all petand I work from an on-farm studio really lucky with farm at home so I've got an on farm studio right in the middle of the country in Northamptonshire but Itravel nationwide for weddings if you were to describe your style of photography ina few words or a sentence or two how would you describe that probably alongthe lines of the old masters if I'm truthful and I find other photographerscall it fine art and I'm not ever so comfortable with that the for me fine artis a little bit stylised than what I do at the end of the day I'm shooting a dogor horse and the dog or a horse will be what they are but my style isvery much in line with the old masters it's quite darkearthy tones very classical portraits when you think backdid you always photograph in that style was that always what you did or did youjust come across that and if you did come across that how did that start andthen develop from there truthfully I would love to give you a very profoundand artistic answer to that but that is not going to happen I developed thatas a style from it almost from commercial point of view on photographywhilst I've been a portrait photographer for probably thirty five years it wasnot my main income stream for a very long time I'm an ex bank manager for along time I had a management accountancy business and whilst my photography wasvery important and and a business in every sense of the wordit wasn't my main income stream and then six years ago but I had quite a bad caraccident and I actually fractured quite a lot of the vertebrae in my neck andsuddenly I couldn't do the accountancy work so much and I concentrated on photography which i still do well there are three things I know as a bank manager 1 photographers orartists in general do not run good businesses and that is a given andthat's not a recent phenomenon if you look back in history the historyis full of starving artists so I know that photographers don't make goodbusiness people and I knew that was going to happen to me 2 I know that youstruggle to sell things that people can do themselves or make themselvesand the other thing 3 I really know from having worked with lots and lots ofindustries you are only ever succesful selling something you love soI kind of had to take a step back and reverse-engineer my photographybusiness you say okay what do you love and at the time Iloved everything I love photographing people i loved photographing babies I loved photographing dogs so I reverse engineered it and said okaywhat do you hate and that was so easy I hate photographs on phones on acomputer in the cloud I hate digitals and I suddenlyrealized that what I actually love are fine art prints and I've wanted at thebusiness where my customers went to away with something beautiful on fine art paperto hang on the wall so immediately that took me away from cake smashesthat kind of photography and I just looked around my house and you canprobably just see behind there's a couple of “.

.

.

” in fine art printseverything on the walls of my house are animals it's quite darkyou know I love Angela Davidson's art there is a big limited edition print ofhers in the front room and I suddenly knew what I love I love art and Iloved it to be of animals and that was where my style developed from I juststarted to try to photograph what I love and that was what I loved and that'swhat style is because I love it so it came from a commercial perspective didI always know that yeah when I look back and I look at the photographs i took whenI was much younger they are in that style and so I know that was my styleyeah I think you learn that as you get older – you know from knowing kind of what else I do that for me my business hat is on as well but that's not normalfor the for the industry – I'm shocked by this industry having come into itreally both feet 6 years ago I'm shockedat how people they don't understand where the competition is they thinktheir competition is other photographers and it isn't other photographers atall I've seen I've seen chat rooms people say I've had another newbornphotographer open up 20 miles away and I feel like saying how manynewborns are born in your County each year and they would probably go 30, 000 andhow many shoots do you want to do a week – 2 – well that's 104 another photographeropening up is not your problem your problem and you're competing withyour clients limited budget and you've got to raise yourself up in what theywant you know you're competing against the family holiday the children needingnew shoes you're competing against the new iPhone and not just from aphotography point of view and just because that's what they're going tospend their money on that's what they value it is absolutely what they valueand I think in this industry more than any other that I've ever worked in thephotographer's haven't got a grasp on that they're forever watching what everybody else is doing and wasting all their energy thatthey should be actually put it into themselves and what they do this is whyphotographers need to stop following photographers that is not wherephotographers should be getting their inspiration from because if you want tobe a stand out photographer you need to be doing something that stands outdifferent different from everybody completely different to everybody but ifsomebody was struggling really struggling to find their style and theydidn't really know how to find their own look and feel and develop that and makesure that they were different from you know especially the localcompetition in terms of their area how would you advise them to try and pindown their individual style then develop that what do you think youwould say to them I think the first thing that I would say to them is stoplooking at what other photographers are producing that would be the first thingI would say if you want to look at other photographers go and look at otherphotographers working in a genre that you don't shoot so if you area newborn photographer go and look at what dog photographers are producing orlandscape photographers and just have a look see what catches your eyeand what you love because you need to know what you love if I go to an artgallery which is something else I would suggest photographers go and dothe images that I stand in front of I think wow are dark they're earthy colorsmuted colors their old masters they very often got dog in them very often gothorses in I love them that has become my styleso look at other things other than photographs go to an art gallery goand walk around an art gallery pick up a magazine fli through it look throughnewspapers just look at images and try and identify what you love, color areyou drawn to warm colors or you know darker colors focal points compositionand what is it that is stopping you in your tracks and making you think of wow Ilove that I can remember years and years ago Iwouldn't have been very old I was working in London and I got off acommuter train early in the morning at Euston station and I'd been jostledalong and I suddenly stopped dead and if anybody commutes into Londonone thing you don't do in a packed community station is stop deadeverybody piled in to me and swore at me but on the newsstands was NationalGeographic magazine and on the front cover there was a photograph by Steve McCurry which is now quite famous it's called Afghan girl and I stoppeddead I could not believe this photograph it was beautiful it just hypnotized meand now when I look back although that was quite different well it is a location portraitin natural light very different to what I do it was very muchmy style it was the same color palette it was the same focal length it waseverything that I've become and decades ago that image stopped me in my path soif you don't know what your style is I think if you're under 30 go and have alook at other people's work if you're over 30 I think you will probably knowyou just need to think about it because there's a lot of medical evidence thatsays by the time we're thirty our personality is fixed and I think as you getolder life experiences wisdom comes and I think we know our style we justdon't know how to identify that we know our stylejust know what you've got hanging on the walls in your home because thatwill tell you what your style is because you will have only put up on the walls what you love I promise to everybody watching I did not pick any of thesepeople because we have the same views I just want to reiterate that really to youI didn't know the answers to any of these questions before right now it justso happens that we're on the same page for all of them do you not think it's interesting though that we have the same views yet very different styles yes and I think that is actuallyvery telling you obviously believe in what you do for all yourreasons which are completely different to mine and your style is completelydifferent to mine but actually fundamentally we're coming from the sameplace and that is why we shouldn't be looking at other photographers work yourwork is not wrong because it's different to mine and my work is notwrong because it's different to yours definitely and actually we're the same people underneathand we're doing the same thing just in a different way let's move tothe last question which is where do you see your photographygoing next because I know you do obviously your portraits and yourweddings do you see anything of that changing is there anything excitingcoming up oh yeah there is something exciting coming up which I have beencompletely scuppered with because coronavirus came and took all my plansI'm actually opening an equine studio on the farm on the farm I'mquite lucky with where I live May to September/October time we turn allour cows out so we have a lot of empty farm buildings so I'm commandeering oneto turn it into the equine studio so that I can light horses and put them onthe backdrop What Is Your Attachment Style?

one of the greatest questionnaires in the history of 20th century psychology had a modest start in the pages of a local Colorado newspaper the Rocky Mountain News in July 1985 the work of two University of Denver psychologists Cindy Hassan and Phillip shaver the questionnaire asked readers to identify

which of three statements most closely reflected who they were in love to hugely improve our chances of thriving in relationships we should dare to take the same test option a I find it relatively easy to get close to others and uncomfortable depending on them and having them depend

on me I don't worry about being abandoned or about someone getting too close to me option B I find that others are reluctant to get as close as I would like I often worry that my partner doesn't really love me or won't want to stay with me I

want to get very close to my partner and this sometimes scares people away option C I am somewhat uncomfortable being close to others I find it difficult to trust them completely difficult to allow myself to depend on them I'm nervous when anyone gets too close and often others

want me to be more intimate than I feel comfortable being which of these options applies to you a B or C behind the scenes the options refer to the three main styles of relating to other people first identified by the English psychologist John Bowlby the inventor of attachment

theory in the 1950s and 60s option a signals what is known as a secure pattern of attachment whereby love and trust come easily option B refers to what's known as the anxious pattern of attachment where one longs to be intimate with others but is continuously scared of letdown

and often precipitates crises in relationships through counterproductive ly aggressive Avia option c is what is known as the avoidant pattern of attachment where it feels much easier to avoid the dangers of intimacy through solitary activities and emotional withdrawal questionnaires in newspapers are rarely of much use but Hassan

and shavers is the momentous exception if there is one thing we should do to improve our relationships it is to know ahead of time which of the three categories we predominantly belong to a B or C and to deploy the knowledge in love so as to warn ourselves

and others of the traps we might fall into we then need a little training because half of us at least are not secure in love we belong in the camps of either the avoidant or the anxious and we have to complicate matters an above-average propensity to fall in

love with someone from the other damaged side thereby aggravating our insecurities and defences in the process here is a brief list of what avoidance and anxious types should keep in mind in their relationships if you are an avoidant with someone anxiously attached well recognize the extent to which

you check out emotionally when things are intense particularly when there is an offer of closeness recognize how you will tend to prefer sex and closeness with strangers and how nervous you will be around cuddles and kissing you probably don't want to keep the light on either watch are

you sabotage long-term intimacy have compassion that you are afraid of what you really want think back to how in your past closeness would have been frightening because people let you down and observe how you adopted a strategy of removal to protect yourself you are hurt not bad remind

yourself that the present is different from the past and that you are ruining the present by bringing to it fear Laden dynamics that don't actually belong there it may feel like your partner is being aggressive and ill-tempered with you for no reason they are at heart upset and

unable to express their needs in any other way they want you and that's why they are behaving as they are look beneath their nagging and their accusations and believe in their underlying goodwill when they attack you see they're longing for love do that very frightening thing extend reassurance

and explain calmly the appeal of the cave if you are an anxious person with an avoidant partner here are some other things to bear in mind things are not necessarily as bad as they seem the other person's quiet might just be quiet not a lack of love their

distance isn't necessarily meanness it might be their way of maintaining equilibrium on the other hand you are not demented or needy to want more but your way of dealing with what you legitimately need may be aggravating things hugely you might be triggering your partner by asking for intimacy

too directly and also probably with too much anger realize that you need to tread lightly and to be a little distant in requesting closeness your partner isn't mean or freakish merely damaged as a you and that's very normal a full forty percent of the population are in your

positions either in securely attached or anxiously attached knowing whether we can be classed as secure avoidant or anxious in love should be a basic fact we grasp about ourselves the next step is to accept with grace that if we are either avoidant or anxious we're going to need

considerable emotional schooling to get out of scratchy patterns and stand a chance of building up a good enough relationship our relationships book calmly guides us with calm and charm through the key issues of relationships to ensure that success in love need not be a matter of good luck

DIY REUSABLE FACE MASK with FILTER POCKET-4 Style Options-1 Easy SEW Pattern-Won't Fog Your Glasses!

hi I'm Liz, welcome to my channel, MakingIt Easy with Liz.

Today we're going to be making, so sorry that we have to, facemasks.

Right now we are all in self isolation, today is March 30th and it is justgoing nuts out there so here's something that you can give to everybody.

We allhave more fabric than we know what to do with and I'm making a whole pile for ourfriends.

It fits great the aluminum wire that I use, just formsright to your face and there we go.

.

.

so what do you think? I be stylin'.

Solet's go ahead and take a look at the other features of this mask that made melike this particular pattern.

Here's why I like this pattern the best.

One, it'ssuper easy to make, there are three pieces, just three straightforward rectangle pieces to deal with.

Super easy, comes with a pocket inthe back to put a filter in.

Any non-woven fabric will do.

Wherethe elastic goes, this is a casing so you can replace this.

So everybody's going onabout how the elastic doesn't hold up well, well don't stitch it into your mask.

This makes it so that you can easily replace it.

Now I understand that that style, people are complaining about it chafingbehind their ears.

There's this style, where it just goes right over your headand your neck and that works out really well, but again, elastic right? So ifif elastic is hard to find.

.

.

I bought a 200 yards roll from Amazon so I'm good to go there.

If you don'twant elastic, you can make ties.

You can sew up matching ties if you want.

This isan old t-shirt, works out perfect, again, can be replaced, or you can just go ahead and stitch your your ties right on, and thisis just like bias tape and I just stitched it down, on, and down, and thereyou have that.

Here are the materials we're going toneed to complete our mask.

.

.

100% cotton fabric.

This is just quilting cotton, pre-washed, dried and pressed.

We don't want to use unwashed fabric because ithas sizing in it and I don't think that's meant to be breathed in.

So whatyou're gonna do is you're gonna cut your main piece, 15 inches by7.

5 inches if you have a patterned fabric such as these peacesigns, this has already been cut, you're going to want to make sure that thefront of your design is in the right direction of the fabric print is going in thisdirection, right? So whatever your your direction is, you're looking at it, and it'sthe right way, you're going to lay the short side down on top like that.

Ifyou're using scissors and pins, then make yourself up paper pattern piece.

If not, rotary cutter and ruler, which is what I prefer, and you can get a lot of layerscut out at one time and you're not hassling with with pins and stuff.

Sowe've got that piece, then we need two side pieces and they – if it'sdirectional same thing short side is the right way of the directionof the fabric so these two pieces are four inches by two and a half inches sowe need two pieces of that.

UPDATE: We need two pieces of quarter inch elastic, 12″-13″ long or one piece 28″-32″ long for around the head/neck.

We have clips, I like clips, you can usepins.

we need scissors, a ruler.

.

.

our wire now, my wire is an aluminum wire.

It is 14 gauge, or one and a half millimeter wide.

We need seveninches of that because once we finish off the ends we'll end up with six and ahalf inches total so, that is aluminum wire.

Needle nosepliers or round nose pliers if you have them and some wire cutters.

This ispretty soft, I think an old pair of scissors will even cut it.

This is tofinish off the ends of the wire, which I will show you what we're gonna do.

Also a three by eight and a half inch piece of cardstock construction paper, anold folder, just something a little thicker than paper.

We're gonna use thisfor a great hack that I came up with for doing your pleats, and it goes reallyfast, and of course your sewing machine, your serger, if you if you want to use aserger and thread.

Yyou know, the usual stuff.

Okay, so let's go ahead and we'regonna get started.

Our first thing to do of course, is to cut your fabric out sothis is already cut out, and what you're gonna do to this now, is you are going toeither with your sewing machine you're going to zigzag along the shorter edgeon either side, just so it doesn't fray or serge it.

.

.

I serge, and you want to put your blade down, we don't want to cut in any fabricso we're just gonna Serge along the edge of this or zigzag on your sewing machine these short sides of our piece of fabric.

I'm using three threads, with one inside needle because I want to keep that edge under a quarter inch and it won't conflict with our seam later on.

next we're going to trim off our threads now we're going to fold it, right sidestogether, making sure it's even and I'm just going to throw a couple of clips on there, you can use pins if you want I like clips.

Now we'regoing to measure in one and a half inches from both sides and mark it.

Now we're going to go to the sewingmachine and we're going to sew, back stitch, and sew to our mark, back stitch, and then just lift up your foot and needle and drag it down to start on your next mark, back stitchcome to the end and back stitch.

1/4″ seam.

.

.

now we're going to sewone quarter inch seam to our mark back stitch move up and do our other side and I have this on a stitch length of like 2-2.

5 Okay so snip the threads.

.

.

okay sonow we're gonna turn this this way we're going to open up our seam and giveit a press you pull on it like that, it just pops into place okay after we press the seam open, we'regoing to turn it right-side out now I am using directional fabric my pattern hasto go a certain way so this is the front of the mask right so we want our peacesigns facing the proper direction so I'm going to turn this over and justremember the backside of directional fabric will always be upside down soyou'll always know which side you're working on so I'm going to just take myupper part here and I'm just going to eyeball about a half inch and give it apress.

Okay so we're gonna be top stitching or new top stitch right alongthis edge the lower edge of our opening all the way across and we have to openit up so this is a little tricky not a big deal but just try not to catch trynot to catch your the rest of your fabric in there I've done it twicethat's one time too many.

.

.

okay so I used I use the edge of the inside of my foothere to gauge and I'm running that along the edge here so that I can keep it evenand that works out really well for me I'm changing it to about a three threeand a half stitch length for top stitching and we're going to back stitch and topstitch now we're going to top stitch along thistop edge here again just like about a sixteenth of an inch.

an eighthof an inch.

.

.

we're going to top stitch here and we're justgoing to do an 1/8 of an inch like a sixteenth of across the top here then aneighth of an inch down the sides then we're top stitching the bottom andthat's another sixteenth of an inch or eighth of an inch whichever you likeand an eighth of an inch on the sides and the reason why we're going an eighthof inch on the sides this is just to hold it together and in the end we'regonna be doing a quarter inch seam on there and we don't want any previousstitching lines to show through so we want to keep it less than a quarter ofan inch so let's go ahead and do that.

Now it's time to insert our wire andstitch it in.

.

.

if we leave our wire like this just cuton the ends, that can end up poking through the fabric so we don't want that.

We want to keep it nice and comfortable and not cause any injury to ourselves sowe want to turn the ends of our wire to that, and I'm going to show you how to dothat right now.

.

.

so this is the 14 gauge aluminum wire that I bought on Amazonand you can see it's very soft but it holds its shape so I really really likethis the best.

I couldn't find any other kind of wire and I just like thiswhole idea.

.

.

so what we're gonna do is, if you have needle nose pliers or if you're like me, I'm a jewelry maker, right? so I have round nose.

.

.

round nose is the preferable but you can use a pair of chain nose or needle nosepliers and be careful with this it dents very easily and we don't want to scuffit up so if you have needle nose just take it back just a little bit we'regoing to just roll it like so and then we're just going totake and pinch it right there and we're just gonna push back on the stem part tomake it centered and just straighten it out it doesn't have to be pretty, noone's gonna see it it's just to get keep from poking out.

Now, if you haveround nose, we're gonna do the other side.

.

.

so I just keep it all on the sameside and with round nose then I can just flip my pliers around like so andthen just bend that back against it and now we have finished ends.

Now if youfeel they're wonky and they're not even just give it a spin until they're bothfacing the same direction.

You should have six and a half inches of finishlength wire.

So the wire is longer than the opening is and I don't want to bendthis up so I just slide it right into the pocket and then work one end up intothe corner and bring the other one up through, like so.

I've got my wirepushed up to the top here and now we're going to top stitch the upper part andclose that wire in there.

That again, is going to be about a sixteenth of an inchjust real close to the edge.

Wire is in, now it's time to put thepleats into our mask.

the inside with our pocket faces down, with the front of the mask facing up.

Right side facing up and this is whereour 3-inch piece of paper comes in.

.

.

we're going to clip, so we want this, afterpleated, three inches wide, so this is going to be our guide and itjust falls right into place I came up with this because I'm too lazyand I'm gonna be making more than one at a time so I need this to go fast.

clip both this end and then we're gonnatake this end and line it up make sure it's going on straight and now clip this in easy these pop intoplace now I'll get three full so we're gonna do the first one and I've got mythumbs right here and we're just going to fold that up and then we're going totake the other ones I can get my finger in there and this will this will justpop into place.

.

.

there we go and you can work your pleats out there and now we're gonna clip them onthe sides keep them look at that easy-peasy now we're just gonna go andwe're gonna press our pleats then we're going to sew up the sides.

SoI'm gonna Serge my sides (UPDATE I stopped serging them) you can sew them up on the sewing machine if you'dlike keeping about an eighth of an inch or actually following that same stitchline that you originally did just follow that and that is just going to tackthese together we're still going to put finding where the elastic is going to goinside and that will sew these permanently together I gave my pleats aquick press and now I'm just going to serge up my sides and you want to makesure that your wire isn't in the way and that will just slide back and forth so push that out of the way and make sure it's not in the way I'mgoing to remove my Clips while holding this with my hand and now we're ready to put on our sidepieces and our elastic so we're going to take the front of the mask and we'regonna face that face down right sides together on our side piece here and we want to make sure this is the front, so our pattern isfacing the right direction so we want our fabric piece to also face the rightdirection so that would be that way correct so we're gonna put those rightsides together.

.

.

but I like to do it this way, so that I can see how much I have tofold over and I'm just going to clip that in place now this is why I cut I cut mine fourinches long because I like having that extra fabric to fold over I don't likefiddling with a quarter inch little piece of fabric that's starting to frayand we want that butted right up against right now we're going to stitch aquarter inch seam back stitching both at the beginning and the end on both sides make sure your wires pushed out of theway and not underneath your foot okay so this is what we end up with so Iam just going to give this a little press and we're going to press it awayon both sides then we're going to bring this in andgive it a press okay so now we're going to turn in foldthis over and over and we want this to come just below our seam line therebecause when we top stitch the other side, we don't want this showing, so we're going to bring this kind of like a half inchdown and then just bring that down.

.

.

we want this wide enough to be able for theknot of the elastic to fit through now we're ready to put our elastic in Ilike to not have to fumble with my elastic afterwards you're more thanwelcome to pin at the end of the elastic and and and push it throughafter you're done stitching but I'm kind of lazy so I just lay my elastic inthere up against the the crease there bring this down and then I clip it inplace because I'm always trying to think of the easiest way to getsomething done.

.

.

so now I'm gonna flip this over and we are going to top stitchvery close to the edge.

We're not going to stitch in the ditch for all of youquilters out there.

.

.

we're not going to stitch in the ditch because it justlooks too messy on the other side which it's on the inside but I want to makesure that we catch this underneath, and it's realeasy for it to shift.

I'm going to stitch very, very close to the edge here, make sure your wire isn't in the way and make sure your elastic is out of the way.

.

.

there we go fingers crossed that we caught it, yes wedid that looks good might not look prettybut if it's functional if your machine can't handle the bulkyou might try a walking foot.

.

.

it's not too bad, I'm using an industrial machine so it kind of freaking goes through everything and there we go.

.

.

see how nice that is? We're just gonna tie this into an overhand knot (use 12-13″ of elastic.

.

.

this is too short to work with) but I tell you it's it's it's no good totry to scrimp on elastic and get this step done okay and we're going to bring our knot asclose to the end as we can and tighten it up and I like to leave these two lastafter I get the other side done so that I can compare the two sides and makesure that they're that they're even we don't want one side tighter than theother and that looks about right so I'm going to trim this and you just shift itand stick stuff that in there okay it's done done like dinner alrightum now if you wanted to if you want to go ahead and use the circular the otherthe other elastic way cut about 28 or 30 inches of elastic and and you can feedit through afterwards you would just feed it up through one side come aroundcome around tie it in a knot and then stuff the knot in and then you would endup with a circle or you can just lay it lay it like I did lay it in clip itleave the ends undone until you get it stitched and then tie it in a knotthat's how you would do that that way cool.

You met with an accident.

And l got the agreement.

Got it? You can never dance in your life.

lf l were you, l would've committedsuicide long back.

Now l will sign.

lf l were you, l would've committedsuicide long back.

What are you doing, brother? When you wanted to achievesomething in life, l was proud as your sister.

But now l feel ashamedseeing you doing this.

What else you want me to do? What was my fault? Why am l being punished? Dance was my life.

But he removed dance from my life.

Why should l live? You must live.

Nothing is lost when anordinary man dies.

But if you die, the art of dance also dies.

The art must live.

You just need a second to die.

But to achieve, you need a life time.

Other dance to the beat.

But you dance to theheart beats of your fans.

Handicap does not mean you should die.

Didn't a deaf Beethovenproduce wonderful music? Didn't a blind Braillegive the blind a written language? Didn't a lame Stephen Hawkinsbecome a scientist? You can't dance losing your legs.

But you have a great artto create wonders.

Where there is a will, there is a way.

We can light millionsof candles with one.

lf you think, you can makesomeone like you.

You can make him dance in thenext year's dance competition.

You can also send himto international competition.

You can achieve your objective.

You will do it.

l trust you.

You will do it.

Don't do it for our sake.

But do it forthe sake of art in you.

Show Antony who you areand what your dance is.

l will.

You can all leave.

Priya.

.

.

-Yes brother.

Style must reflect in one's workand not in himself.

Their hair cuts, clothes look stylish.

But their dance has no style.

They dance for passing time.

Every cell in our body must dance.

Look, walk, smile.

.

.

everythingmust reflect dance.

His life must be dedicated to dance.

l need the one who would sacrificehis life for dance.

Welcome to all.

You've come to see my program.

l'm very happy.

Why are you disturbing the show? Don't talk like a mad man.

You forget that we are workingin a dance school.

lf our boss sees us, we will be thrown out.

One day, l will alsobecome a famous dancer, and people will throngto see my performance.

Our boss is here.

What are you doing?-We are cleaning.

Do not talk about shows.

.

.

.

.

Dude, what happened behindthe closed door? What has happened? lt was dark andit was very noisy.

.

.

l made the beauty togo into ruptures.

.

.

She promised me beautiful babies.

.

.

At 3 months of pregnancyshe walked like this.

.

.

After 6 months of pregnancyshe walked like this.

.

A little angel will smileand offer you flowers.

.

.

Any festival today? Your arrival is by itselfa festival to us.

She had come to the inaugurationof our dance school.

l knew it.

You know them.

They are our flat members.

Let's go.

– Please.

Sit.

Sit.

.

.

sit properly.

You said you wanted to say something.

.

.

lt is about my love.

l thought of expressingmy love long back.

Due to ego problem, l didn't say that.

Why have ego? l was confused as tohow to express my love.

My friend gave me an idea.

lf l move close with any other guy, my lover would feel bad.

Then, he will expresshis love in anger.

Since l was moving close with you, Raja got angry.

When you had a tiffin pizza hut, and l gave you a gift.

You should've seen his face then.

lt had completely changed.

Do you know what did he do? He came to me & expressed his love.

l & Raja are in love for 3 years.

Our parents have also agreed our love.

You are responsible forour love to succeed.

So, l wanted to give youmy first wedding card.

Raja also agreed to this.

He said he will come here.

Always late.

Raghava, how do we look? Good ah? You must come to our marriage.

You must come.

Okay, let's go.

We told you about our love.

Are you in love with anybody? He loves dancing & nothing else.

Let's go.

Why are you keeping quiet? Couldn't you say that you love her? What can he say when she hascome with her fiance? We must not spare her.

-Yes.

No more fights.

You all be here.

l'll come after an hour.

May be we pushed youto this situation.

Stop.

l forgot my bag in Raghava's room.

My parents will bewaiting there for me.

Okay, let's go.

No.

You stay with your parents.

l'll go by auto & take my bag.

– Careful Shruthi.

– Okay.

Why did she do so?- Poor Raghava.

Why did you left him alone? Take it.

l forgot my bag in your room.

– Take it.

You people look very different.

How should we look likefor what you have done? What did l do? We can't act like you.

We are outspoken.

What are you talking about? What happened? Don't you know that Raghava loves you? Raghava is in love with me? You came to inaugurate his dance schoolcelebrated his birthday party.

Presented him a new cell phone.

You may say you did thesewithout any love.

But your acts made himfall in love with you.

lt is your fault.

Even god didn't feel pity on him.

Gave him only worries.

He is not like others.

He doesn't ogle at girlsstanding at the bus stand.

His mother's wish is his objective.

What do you know about him?Listen, l will tell you.

Why are you late to the class? Today is my mother's birthday.

l went to buy her a gift.

Show me what you have bought.

Very nice.

Keep it there & practice.

Raghava, someone is takingaway your mother.

Who?- l do not know.

Go.

Please leave me.

l won't come.

No.

Please spare my wife.

She is innocent.

l beg you.

Please leave my wife.

Atleast you tell them.

Ask them to leave her.

Today is her birthday.

l beg you.

Mother.

.

.

They are taking me away.

l bought a gift for you.

Mother.

.

.

They are taking away your mother.

Are you all happy now? She is innocent.

She was always inside the house.

What harm did she do to you? He who made the phone callwill live happily! l've a wish.

Will you fulfill it?-What is your wish? Look at this photo.

This was taken when l dancedin our Rama's temple.

Our villagers praised that l will becomea great dancer watching my performance.

Really?-Yes.

Even l dreamt of becominga great dancer.

l got married.

Your father hates dancing.

My dream remained a dream.

Everyone wants to achieve something.

But if the wish is unfulfilled.

.

.

they prefer to fulfill itthrough their children.

l'm no excuse.

That's why l'm sending youto the dance school.

Learn well & become a great dancer.

Everyone must praise you.

This is my wish.

Don't quit dancing no matterwhat ever the problems you may face.

Promise me that you won't quit dancing.

You want a promise, dance with me.

– Me? Now? l won't.

Won't you dance?-Yes, l won't.

lf l dance, you will also dance.

Promise me now.

– l swear on you, No matter what difficulties l may face, l won't quit dancing.

l'll fulfill your wish.

Please wait.

-What?- Listen to me.

l want to talk to you.

– Later.

What is it? You said you will kill your wife.

l took a rod to kill her.

l hit her on the head.

But she didn't die.

She became mad.

l called mental hospitaland sent her away.

There will be no more problems.

Come.

There is a problem.

What problem?-Your son.

l will take care of him.

Come.

You don't have to take care of him.

Let him starve for 2 days andhe'll run away on his own.

Okay?- Okay.

You remember about him, don't you? You go.

l took a rod to kill her.

l hit her on the head.

Leave me.

– Stop.

l want to go.

What happening?- She beat us & ran away.

Catch that mad woman.

– Come, let's go.

Mother.

.

.

Go there.

l swear on you, No matter what diificulties l may face, l won't quit dancing.

l will fulfill your wish.

Who are you? Move away.

Go.

Will you teach us to dance? l will.

We are those 4 boys.

lf Raghava hadn't taught us dance, we would've become criminals.

But Raghava searchedeverywhere for his mother.

He believes that he willfind her some day.

l made a big mistake.

l didn't do it intentionally.

lt happened without my knowledge.

Please forgive me.

You shouldn't seek my forgiveness.

l desired something beyond my reach.

l imagined something else.

lf my friends had hurt you, please forgive them.

Please go.

lt's getting late.

Please go.

lt's alright.

Go.

Why are you looking so dull? We must prepare for tomorrow'sDance Baby Dance finals.

Let's go.

lsn't it painful? She is not lucky enough to marry me.

-What are you saying? Should we die if we fail in love? Should we become for lorn lover Devdass? l don't say it isn't painful.

lt is painful.

l went out & thoughtwhat is more important? Mother's wish or my love? My love looked nothing whencompared to my mother's wish.

l don't say falling in love is wrong.

Love is divine.

Love is a part of life.

Love by itself isn't life.

Let's love our objective.

Let's be successful in it.

Look at that old lady.

There is no relation between us & her.

To cheer us in worries, she gave us her pension topaint our dance school.

Are we in anyway relatedto these children? Even they gave us money & helped us.

Till now, there was nobodyto share our sorrows.

But today, there are so manyto share our sorrows.

This is also a kind of love.

Their love is more than enough.

l found the man you were looking for.

You've got the right person foryour long & patient wait.

He is ready to sacrificehis life for dance.

Come to Vizag immediately.

Why make noise when l meditate? How long should we be scared of him? From today, no one has to fear.

l'll give you the idea.

My dear son!Why gave this idea so late? Operation ready.

Come.

Why are you behaving like a child? Stop tickling me.

Father has become deaf.

l've taken precaution.

lt's getting late.

Go away kids.

Dance is our life, why should we leave this place? You'll not listen to words, you don't know about me, right? Everybody thinks your master Ganeshlost his legs in an accident.

Didn't come back from the temple? What are you saying? l suspect Antony.

What should l do now? Let's lodge a complaint on Antony.

We don't have any evidence, how can we lodge a complaint? His brother is in the audienceand he's ready to dance.

How can we? The show has begun.

Did you heart hose words of praise? Your boys aren't here yet.

We have fooled ourselvestrusting you.

What a lousy group you've got us? Winning with both legs is difficulthere and you got us a cripple.

A great master and his lousy group, Forget about dance now, dance isn't your cup of tea.

lf they don't turn up now, we may disqualify them andgo to the quarter finals.

Antony and his brother havetaken to the bad way, let's also take the same way, l know a man in my area, if l tell him he'll get our boyshere in 5 minutes.

– Bad way? No.

What are you saying brother? Do anything, our group should be here.

They are my men, leave them.

What if we don't? You'll get the stick.

-Who are you? Ganesh team hasn't come yet.

We are disqualifying themfrom the competition.

Ganesh, Raghava is here.

Get them quickly, l'll stop them.

Something has happenedto Ganesh's group.

Though they are hurt severely, they performed very well.

What are you doing?-You don't worry.

Four people have cometo bump him off.

The groups that havereached quarterfinals.

.

.

What? We must take revengeon Antony and his brother.

We are here, we'll show our power.

l was harsh on you.

Don't take him now, let him be here till the finals.

He must know what is talent.

All the teams were goodin the quarterfinals.

Semi finalists were excellent, but the teams to reach finals are.

.

.

The finalists are.

.

.

Let's decide it today, Raghava.

A good news to all of you, a very popular person will giveaway the prize to the winner.

Who is he? lt's suspense for now.

Dance is Lord Shiva's 'Rudhrathandavam'.

.

.

.

Talent of dance is a boon.

.

10 wardrobe essentials for French style | "Parisian chic" | Justine Leconte

Hi everyone, it's Justine.

Last week we talked about style rules that French women often agree on and follow when they get dressed.

Today, I'd like to go a bit deeper than that, and tell you about the essential pieces in a French wardrobe.

I guess there are like 10 of them that literally every French woman owns.

So we'll go through that top 10 of essentials and at the end of this video, I'd like to give you some shopping tips to choose and pick your key pieces “the French way”, so stick with me.

First, let's start with the top then.

Number 1: a white, crisp, tailored shirt with a marked waist.

It's standing for urban, active and elegant when you're working or if you're sitting in a café.

White shirts are also worn during leisure time in Paris, it's not something reserved to week days or to work purposes.

You also see women wearing shirts during weekends.

Number 2: an elegant blazer in France is not overdressed, it's just right and if it's a bit silky, a bit shiny, If it has studs on it or on the shoulders or if it has a tuxedo light color then it's even better.

It can be fitted an [n] [quad] taylor if you wear it just over simple top or it can be oversized and even double-breasted if you wear it as an outerwear piece like on this picture.

That's the editor-in-Chief of French Vogue, Emmanuelle Alt Number 3: ballerinas or alternatively loafers are a must in Paris, because you don't wear sneakers to work.

That's not really usual.

But you do need to walk a lot throughout the day, especially if you have to change subway lines during your commute.

Subway stations in Paris have endless corridors and stairways so you definitely need a good pair of flats.

Number 4: so let me get this straight, the black dress does not have to be little to work.

The fact that it fits your body well is much more important.

If you're a pear shaped body, you might want to go for an A-line dress.

If you don't like your arms, you might want to opt for the long sleeve versions etc I did a video series on how to dress for your body shape, for your body type so I'm not gonna go into details in this video right here But you'll find that series on my channel.

The idea of the black dress is that it's your best possible silhouette And that black is always chic, so when in doubt or when you don't have anything to wear, you can always wear black.

Number 5: a very, very good black t-shirt with the V-Neck or a crew neck That is flowy and loose enough to move around you when you move and long enough to be tucked into your pants if you want to and then the exact same t-shirt in white and a few other colors.

Once you have found your perfect t-shirt shape staple get several ones.

Number 6: a nice turtleneck sweater in a good cut in your true size will always look elegant You can pick black or maybe a neutral hue that flatters your skin tone.

Think that you are gonna wear that sweater in winter when your skin is paler anyway so you need that color to be flattering.

Think of cashmere, for instance It's so soft that you could wear it on bare skin and then you have the feeling that you're getting hugged all day.

A nice fabric is important for that sweater to feel great.

French women will all tell you, if you feel great it shows and you also look great.

Once you have that perfect sweater, add French perfume on top and then everybody else will also want to hug you.

Number 7: a well fitted pair of dark blue jeans can be styled down with sneakers or up with a blazer and a nice pair of heels.

So in France it is seen as a very versatile piece of clothing much more than clear jeans, which always look more casual and that's not good if you want to go out in those pants later.

Also, bleached jeans mean a lot more pollution during the production process and it wastes a lot of water and bleaching damages the fibers, so your clear jeans won't last as long as dark ones.

No brainer.

Number 8: a huge scarf is a nice accessory no matter which season you live in.

In winter, it can be made of wool and in summer, for instance, lightweight cotton.

It can have a print on it, so it's gonna be the accent color in your outfit otherwise made of probably solid colors.

You can simply wrap it around your neck like here or you can tie it in the front to look a bit more formal.

And if you have smelly neighbors in the subway, you know very practical.

Number 9: you need a purse into which you can throw everything you need during the whole day makeup, snacks, books, computer, gym clothes, heels if you're going out after work.

Think of Mary Poppins you know, she opens the bag and pulls out no matter what you need.

Yeah, that's the idea.

Number 10: a pair of black, high, pointy heels.

The type that hurts, but makes your legs look fabulous.

Think of Saint Laurent stilettos, this kind, like your basic, typical, super chic, black heels.

You can't really walk in them, but you have flats with you in your huge handbag so you're fine.

Now, when French women go shopping, they seriously prioritize quality over quantity.

How to do that? Very simple: I have a method in 4 points, 4 questions So, question 1: does that piece fit with at least half of what's already in my wardrobe? Second: will I want to wear that for at least 10 or even 20 years, or is it something fashionable and it's gonna go out of fashion at some point? Number 3: is the quality so high that I can wash it at least 50 times And it's still gonna look good and have its shape? Number 4: it's actually not a question, it's a challenge You go home without buying the piece.

You wait 24 hours and if then you still want it, you can go get it.

It can be silly, but it actually prevents impulse purchases and impulses are the main reason why we buy too fast clothes that are too cheap.

On a scale from 0 to 10, how many of those pieces do you own already? Or I should say on a scale from 0 to 10, how French are you? Do you have further questions about French style? 'Cause I have to admit it's a fun topic for me to reflect and discuss about, so I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.

Give this video a thumb up if you liked it.

Thank you.

I see you soon for a new video I now upload every Wednesday and Sunday.

Until then, take care.

Bye!.

50 Hand Lettering Ideas! Easy Ways to Change Up Your Writing Style!

– Hello everyone, it's Amanda.

Welcome back to my channel.

Today I am so pumpedbecause we are bringing back one of my favorite series.

I mean, it never reallywas an official series, but I did a couple videos a while back.

I did one where I did 50-plus different bullet journal doodle ideas.

I did different banner and header ideas.

And today we are gonna be doing 50-plus different lettering enhancement ideas.

I know.

I'm super excited.

I love lettering.

I know you guys lovehand lettering as well.

Some of you might be wondering what even are lettering enhancements.

By lettering enhancements I mean stuff that you can add on to standard lettering or fonts just to kinda jazz it up, pack more of a punch, add more of an impact, and it's not so much, like, lettering styles, although I guess it kind of is, but it's just stuff that are universally (laughs) words, it's little tricks that are universally applicableto most styles of font, whether it's cursive, San Serif, bold font, capital fonts, you name it.

The combinations are endless.

So hopefully this video givesyou some sort of inspiration.

Before we get into all the lettering fun, I'd like to thank today'ssponsor Skillshare.

Skillshare is super awesome and I'm gonna be talking a bit more about why they're sucha great resource to have a bit later in the video.

But without further ado, I'm sure you guys aresuper eager to get started so let's get right into it.

Of course, we're starting offwith my favorite category, the drop shadows.

You guys know I'm a bigfan of the drop shadow.

I add these onto everything.

They're just an easy way tobump up your lettering style, whether it's for cursiveor capital letters.

This first one is what I like to call the floating drop shadow.

As you can see, I just did a thin line on the right side of the letters and it's not attached to the letters.

Number two is a moretraditional drop shadow.

So it's like a thick black outline, but it's all attached to the main letters and it looks like it's just hovering off of the page a little bit.

The next drop shadow is kindof like a hollow drop shadow.

It's very similar to the floating one except this one it's actually attached to the main lettering.

If you picture a white, hollow version of whatever letters you're doing and then move it a bitdown and to the right, that's what that looks like to me.

Number four takes me back to my childhood.

It reminds me of when I usedto do block lettering as a kid.

So you start off with whateverlettering you start off with and then on every corneryou draw these little ticks all in the same direction and then once you draw linesconnecting all of those ticks you can see it ends up looking like these letters are blocks.

I did a couple differentversions of these, so this one you can see Idid the exact same thing, drew the ticks, andthen connected them all except this time I actuallyfilled in those empty bits with some hatching.

I followed the diagonal lines so they're all in the same direction and it gives it more of a graphic look.

I did a pretty similarthing for number seven with the hatching and everything, except this time it actually didn't have the black outline around the shadow.

It gives it a bit more of an airy feel and still graphic, butjust a little different.

So for number eight you're gonna start off with the same floatingdrop shadow as number one, except this time we'rejust going to repeat it a couple times and thisgives it more of a 3D look and the repeated lines are kind of cool and act as a littleemphasis on the letter.

(pleasant music) Number nine is prettyeasy and self-explanatory.

It's the floating drop shadowexcept the lines are dotted.

Gives it more of a dainty, airy feel to the lettering.

(pleasant music) Number 10 is very similarto the block lettering except this time you'regoing to pick a point at the top and thenconnect all of the corners of the letters to that point.

I roughly sketched thisin with pencil first before I used my fine liner and once you ink it all in it makes it look like you're staring directly at these block letters and they're going farback into the perspective of that point.

(pleasant music) If you want to play around with something more graphic and bold, you can do the sametype of block lettering except extend it out really, really long and then fill it inblack so that the shadow kind of makes up theoutline of the lettering.

You can erase the pencillines for the lettering and it ends up looking really, really dramatic (laughs).

(pleasant music) Okay, so now we're into the section that I like to call the inner line.

It's pretty self-explanatory as well.

You just draw a line on the inside.

I used white for thisone on top of a color, but you can do white onblack or you can also, like I'm showing you here, use black in line for hollow lettering.

Number 14 I'm also drawinglines on the inside of the lettering except I'mdoing it all on the top corners of letters so that itlooks like highlights.

It makes it look like bubble letters.

Moving onto the next categorywhich is the opposite of the inner line.

We are doing an outer outline (laughs).

I'm writing whatever wordand then I'm just creating a little bubble outline all around it.

You can do the same thing but then repeat it a couple times so that it's more fun and funky.

Or you can do the outer outline and then add a dropshadow to it if you want to get a little crazy.

You know, start mixingand matching things.

That's another thing withall these lettering styles.

You can mix and match a bunch of them and come up with cool combinations.

You'll see that I'mactually gonna show you guys a bunch of the combinations.

So I outlined the letters and then played aroundwith various drop shadows and it gives it a different look than if you were to only do a drop shadow.

It makes it stand out a little bit more and, I don't know, it's fun to play around and see the differencebetween the letters, how one line can makesuch a huge difference.

Number 20 is the hollow drop shadow with the outline.

Number 21 is the hatched drop shadow and then number 22 is theblock letter drop shadow.

But since I outlined the marker shape, it ended up looking a bit more jello-like, not really block-like, which I actually kinda like the look of as well.

(pleasant music) You can also flip it around and do the outline with the lighter color, so outside of your black outline.

By the way, this blue colorjust supposed to represent a lighter marker.

All of these lettering styles use black, white, or some sort of color.

For number 24 I'm doingan outline of the letters except it's a little offset, so it's a bit lower and to the left.

25 is a dashed outline which makes it look like it's a stitched on patch.

Then similarly, number26 is a dotted outline, but I actually played aroundwith putting the dots closer to the actual lettering.

(pleasant music) This next one is really fun.

I like to call it the confetti lettering.

You're gonna start off by doing some sort of hollow lettering, whether that's cursive or capital letters, and then around theoutlines of the letters you're just going to put a bunch of dots.

It's kind of like pointillism and you're going to spread the dots out so that they burstoutwards from the letters and it makes it look really cool.

We've made it to aboutthe midway mark of the 50 so I thought I would take this time to talk a little bit about Skillshare.

If you guys don't know what Skillshare is, they're an online learning community with thousands of classes in design, business, technology, photography, illustration.

You name it, they have a class for it.

It's perfect for this video because they actuallydo have a ton of classes on lettering as well.

It's actually where I learned a bunch about lettering and calligraphy.

So if you're interestedin finding more content that's similar to mine, then Skillshare's definitelythe place for you.

Premium membership givesyou unlimited access to all the high-quality classes so you can improve your skills or learn something new, and the best part is thatSkillshare's actually one of the more affordablelearning platforms out there.

An annual membership costsless than $10 a month.

That's like the cost of two coffees which is crazy because you'rebasically getting knowledge and education for the cost of two coffees.

So definitely be sure to checkout Skillshare for yourself.

If you click the link inmy description box below you can get a free two-month trial.

All right, so hopping back into number 28 we are going back to the inner lines.

This one is a dashed line.

I just forgot to do it inthe inner lines section but I thought I would throw it in anyways because this also makes it look like it's kind of stitched in.

Actually it looks kind of like a road, like a street, with the linesthat are marked on the street but that's just 'cause Ichose to do black and white.

Number 29 is pretty similar.

It's a dotted inner line except I only put the dotson the thicker portions of the letters which tendto be the down strokes.

For number 30 I did larger inner dots and then I also added a drop shadow to make it look almostlike a marquee letter.

I think that's what it's called.

For number 31 I did a mixof both the dashed lines and the dotted on the thicker portions and it adds a little bitof an extra flourish.

Kind of looks a littleelegant, in my opinion.

These next two are pretty simple.

It's to fake having a brush pen if you don't have a brush pen.

You just add an extra lineon all of the down strokes and this works even if you'renot doing cursive lettering as I'm showing you here.

You can fill it in or leave it hollow.

Whatever you want.

The next couple of ideasthat I'm showing you are in the pattern category.

So if you want to fill in some lettering with some cool patterns, you can pretty much fill itin with any pattern you want.

But the ones that I'mshowing you are diagonal, hatched, lined, youcan also do polka dots, stars, hearts, whateveryour heart desires.

(pleasant music) For number 36 I did horizontal stripes except I didn't go rightto the edge of the letters, so it gives it kind of a cool look.

For 37 I went in with my white pen and did horizontal stripes as well except I made the stripes get in closer and closertogether towards the bottom so it made it look like it was faded out.

This next one uses stripes as well except the stripes aregoing in the direction of each stroke of the letters.

So as you can see, wheneverthere's a vertical line I'm doing multiple vertical lines and whenever there's a horizontal line I'm doing multiplehorizontal lines as well.

For number 39 I'm addingserifs to the letters.

So serifs are those little ticks that you see me adding onthe ends of the letters.

Wherever you see the end of a line, that's where I add a little tick.

I don't know what else to call them.

And then for number 40 I'm filling in some hollow letters halfway to give it a half full appearance.

I'm doing a white inline but then at the bottom of the inline I'm actually going over it with the black and kind of disintegratingsome dots upwards so it looks like the innerline is fading upward.

42, I'm using a darker markeron top of the lighter marker and these both are kindof like the ombre section.

(pleasant music) This similar to theconfetti one we did earlier except this time the confettiis only going towards one direction, so in my caseI'm going diagonally downwards.

And it makes it look like apointillism drop shadow almost.

These next two are what Ilike to call emphasis lines.

So the first one I'm followingthe curves of the letters and throwing in a couple of these dashes and it make sit look likethe letters are moving.

I also like to do this one where there's, like, sun ray bursts from the corners of the letters.

I think it's really cute as well.

Honestly, number 46 I really don't like.

At this point I was kindof running out of ideas, but you can add little curlycues onto your letters.

Did not turn out as well as I thought but just an idea.

Number 48 is another version of ombre except this time the ombreis actually vertical lines.

So I'm filling in the bottom solid and I'm doing a bunch of vertical lines and layering that so thatit looks like it's fading into the darkness.

Number 49 is the second last one and I'm adding white lineswherever there's an overlap, this way it looks like actually 3D and the strokes of the letters are going on top of each other.

And then finally, number50 is the last one.

This one's really hard to describe, but kind of made theletters look like ribbons.

So you'll see that I added extra lines and then wherever those extra lines are I added shading as well so that it looks like the ribbon is going on top of each other and it looks more 3D.

(pleasant music) All right, everyone.

50 different lettering enhancement ideas.

I can't believe we made it.

It was definitely a lot but hopefully this helpedyou out in some way, gave you some inspiration, especially for when you're feeling a little creatively blocked.

If you enjoyed this video, be sure to hit that bell button and turn on notifications.

You can also see some more art and lettering and calligraphy content from me over on myInstagram @amandarachdoodles but anyways, I'm going to sign off now.

Keep doodling and I will talk to you in the next video.

Bye, everyone.

(pleasant music).
