  1. I know an elimination communication parent and honestly we have daughters the same age(1) and they both wear nappies but her daughter does all of her number 2’s on a potty or in a toilet and absolutely loves doing it! She just left a potty around the room since birth so it was never a new thing to introduce and eventually she just started sitting on it and they went from there xx

  2. My mum was definitely a helicopter parent and still is and I'm the youngest at 24. She is still the same and I'm married 😂 I feel that she did us a dis service in some ways as when I moved in with my husband I couldn't cook, I couldn't clean and I didnt know how to use a washing machine!

  3. I had a tiger mom. Straight A's until university and when I got there, I abandoned, because I found so many interesting things to do, except actually studying. About elimination communication, I tried that with my daughter when she was 10 mo, I sat her on the potty only for no 2 and for a straight week, she did it every day with very little effort. After a week she had a flu, and we gave up to the idea. I regretted it so much, because it was this summer, when she was 2 and a half when she was able to give up diapers completely. Since 2yo we gave up diapers for pee, but she would ask for it when it came for pooping for more than a half year because she just couldn't do it sitting, with the diaper she would do that standing. I plan on my next baby to try elimination communication at around the age of 8mo, it would be for sure less trouble than doing it after 2 yo. Great video! Hugs and kisses from Romania!

  4. I’m following you on Instagram for a year now and you made me open an youtube account two days ago 😀 You’re so inspiring and I totally agree with what you said about nap time and no force them to eat everything.

  5. Loved this!
I always aimed to be an attachment parent, a lot of it really comes naturally but I'm not as earth mama as others! I actually heard about EC (elimination communication) before I gave birth and bought books and read articles on the topic, but I ended up doing cloth nappies and introducing montessori style toilet learning from 13 months! Also you missed out Montessori parenting, and zero/ low waste parenting! Would love to know your thoughts on those styles but you covered many styles here that I wasnt aware of x

  6. I think bits of each technique, i believe in education, i believe rules and making kids independent. However i co slept with my girls , i baby wear and i would say im a very cuddly parent. Xxx

  7. My sister-in-law did use diapers but her little boy actually showed cues that all close family members+daycare could read very early on so he has been going on the potty as from 15 months or so. They did not try to just give him the potty as that would be very hard but I think it's good they learn the potty so early on!

  8. You can have a strong attachment with your baby without baby wearing, breastfeeding or cosleeping. Also making them eat everything on their plate is so pointless. Like it’s an arbitrary amount of food….

  9. Lovely video, I think we should consider and use common sense in every parenting style 🙂 completely agree on most points, others just don't apply to us as every child and family lifestyle/geography are different. I am also a chilled mom when it comes to eating, messy play and naps – made me enjoy life with a small child much more. Thank you very much Emily!

  10. For anyone interested in eating/food related issues with their children check out Krissy Rophia from Her Nourished. She explains why she never forces her 3 children to eat everything on their plate. Thank you for this video, i found it very relatable and interesting! X

  11. Hi Emily 🤗 i am a mom of a 12 years old daughter. Thank you very much for this video, made me think about a lot, specially now when the motherhood is a bit hard for me, my girl change a lot this year , phones, internet, friends, hobbies and so on. I've watch you from long time and i subscribed to you in the beginning of this year, your recipes and your style won me, so thank you so much 🤗😘🤗😘

  12. Hi Emily, love your videos from the core of my heart. I was very strict with my kid bec of the studies and wanted to see him well mannered person. Most of the time I say No so they know clearly it's not right (running in malls, without holding finger walking on road, jumping on sofas, shouting,) Bec of that our relationship effected .he loves me but for making him listen for anything it's very hard. So again I get my tone bit hard and make him listen. Then he listens otherwise no. He says look you are not polite with me but he don't see for how long I was telling him politely ( anything like bath, leave ipad etc). Please let me know how you deal with fraser with an he is 12 and also jealous with his brother .if he do good things I cal him good boy bec he say mom am I good boy then I have say him yes u r but my the elder one tease him (with any reason after some time). I don't know how to handle the situation.

  13. This was lovely to watch and listen to. Thank you for sharing your opinion on this Emily. Watching you and Matt parent and your kids grow for the past four years has been an absolute delight!! (L)

  14. Hi yeh I live in Botswana and babies often are so called potty trained at a few months old certainly by 1 year old – seems to be the norm I never even tried I'm not that intuitive I suppose? But all done very naturally Mums just seem to know when baby needs to go! Very interesting thanks for the video x

  15. The study with the cleaning plate is so true I have an eating disorder thanks to that as my parents even slapped me when I didnt finish the plate. I would never ever force someone to eat.
